Ritchie, George William. On Friday, 6 March 2026, we said goodbye to George, aged 57, after a long illness. George was the adored partner of Janelle Wills, the devoted dad of Emily Hobson Ritchie. Much loved son of Ross Ritchie and Pauline Thompson, and stepson to Wendy Harsant. Treasured in the hearts of his sisters Hannah and Agnes, his stepsister Melissa, his nieces and nephews, brother-in-law Troy, Jennifer Hobson, the whole Hobson family, and his Ritchie cousins Janette, David, and Matt. To honour George’s spirit and the challenges he faced, donations to the Neurological Foundation (neurological.org.nz) are welcome. George’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service at 2pm on 21 March 2026, at H. Morris Funeral Services, 31 Ocean View Road, Northcote. A livestream will be available at hmorris.co.nz for those unable to attend. Guests are invited to join with the family afterwards at The Northcote Tavern, 37 Queen Street, Northcote Point, Auckland.
