Rita Mary Barber

Rita Mary Barber (nee Boumphrey): beloved wife and companion of Joe for almost 60 years, irreplaceable Mum of John, Moira and Liz, much loved and missed Granny of Harriet, Fergus and Jade. Dearest Aunty Stooge of Jackie, Terry, Benjamin and Jonathan in the UK. Daughter of Ernest and Anne Boumphrey, and sister/sister-in-law to the late Leslie and Margaret. An adventurous woman who made her home on the other side of the world, but never forgot her roots. A lover of nature, our gentle, kind and spirited Rita is now peacefully at rest. Many thanks to nurses, doctors and staff at both Greenvalley Rest Home and Te Mana Rest Home and Hospital for their exceptional care during her stays at each place.

A funeral service to celebrate Rita’s life will be held at Romaleigh Chapel, 31 Ocean View Road, Northcote. Auckland. On Thursday 29 August at 11am.
